Hi, thats me above, I'm Catherine Barkley. I live in the country called Great Britain. I am a nurse in World War 1.
I helped and nurture injured soldiers. my little brother.. James my husband.. Henry :) Week one.
I was born and raised in this lovely country. My younger brother and husband got called into serving in the war, and I couldn't bear to not be with them. so I became a nurse so I'll always know where they are and if they are okay. My country played a big part in World War I. Britain was one of the main countries fighting on the side of the Entente against the Central Powers.
Britain, together with its empire, went to war early in August 1914 and fought for the entire duration of the war. There was a terrible shooting that killed the Archduke of Austria and Hungary. The black hand was guilty for the shooting, although they didn't get punished because all the men involved in the black hand shot and killed themselves after the shooting occured. The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie, started World War 1.
Week two.
Great Britain wanted to win the war so bad, the soldiers tried their hardest. The Schlieffen plan was a plan used by Germany and the plan was to go through Belgium and into France and try to capture France to hold off the Russians. The plan was when the Germans came through Belgium, Britain would load up their best tanks and thousands of supplies and troops, trying to hold off the Germans in Belgium. This poster above is something my country put out to encourage men enlist in the war. They are hoping by using women in the poster, more men will join. Russia's leadership was horrible. They where bankrupt and couldn't supply their own military with enough arms. The U.S immediatly supplied the allies with food, man power, material, and $10 billion cash.

Here is how some british soldiers spent there christmas. They spent there christmas as a whole, not as two seperate teams. They sang and shared together-ness.
Week four.
As of now, i'm going home. Home sweet home. i'm really excited, because i haven't seen anyone in my family for couple years. i dont know who will still be alive, or if everyone is in perfect health. I hope everyone is good. I miss everyone a whole whole lot! i hope my brother comes back soon as well. i haven't seen him since i joined the war (to become a nurse). Me and him got split up when we enlisted.
Now i am home. I love it at home. Most of my family is still here, but the old ones are gone. I guess it was there time to go. My brother James came back, finally. But henry my husband never came back :( it makes me really sad, but life goes on.
